The Cambridge Reading Series

Friday 12th February, 7.30pm

  • Francesca Lisette
  • Stephen Rodefer

The Cambridge Reading Series (CRS) is a new cycle of poetry readings taking place at the Faculty of English in Cambridge.

Dialogic in form and international in scope, this dynamic series breaks with the usual format. In addition to reading their own work, poets will also read the work of another poet, bringing a new dimension to the readings.

Each reading will be accompanied by a pamphlet publication featuring a selection of the participating poets’ work and critical responses to them.

The Cambridge Reading Series is made possible by the Judith E. Wilson Fund and organised by English graduate students Ryan Dobran, Ian Heames, Justin Katko, Laura Kilbride, and Mike Wallace-Hadrill.

Judith E. Wilson Drama Studio, Faculty of English, 9 West Road, Cambridge

Admission is free, all welcome. Wine served.

The third Klatch meeting was held on Friday 29th January. At this meeting the second Klatch magazine was put together. Positive Action

Saturday 21st November, 7.30pm

POSITIVE ACTION presents A BENEFIT for U-TURN

The U-Turn project is a Bethnal Green based charity that is both under exposed and under funded. Its main aim is to help and work with "vulnerable and hard to reach women of all ages who have been trapped in the cycle of prostitution, drug addiction, physical abuse and homelessness from a young age". U-Turn offers them "an opportunity to self-determine their future in their own communities". Their main mission is to "support women who have suffered cruelty and abuse and encourage them to make sustainable changes in their lives." U-Turn helps to try and change these forgotten women’s lives around.

Performing on the night will be a mixture of bands and poets:

The Victoria, 110 Grove Road, Mile End E3 5TH
